Review from Mobile Register in regard to the 20 Page Project - July 7, 2012
"Diana Kaye Obe says this is her first art journal experience, “though I am always writing and doing art, so (I) was excited to combine the two in a consistent manner.”
“My approach was purely experimental,” she says, “trying different media and different papers bound within the book, some of which were new to me. Beginning, I could not completely visualize a ‘theme’ so I just began and let the theme develop. I took risks and reveled in the risks and, for the most part, the outcome.”

Biography

Art gives form to experience and imagination, and should "arrest" the viewer. If a piece of art does not move you in your emotions, it is not "your piece."
My experiences are wide and varied and my imaginations are deep and endless. I hope some capture your heart.
The images I create are meant to take the viewer on a journey, to the Caribbean, India, Africa, Central America, through faces, places, landscapes, flora and fauna of the locale. Many are created from photographs given to me by friends, or from my own photography.
The environment and humanity and man's responsibility toward caring for all we've been given will always remain a reason for my painting/drawing.
All mediums attract me. Charcoal enchants me as I take a piece of paper, a piece of charcoal, an eraser and create a part of the world or something even deeper, something never seen before that comes from an intangible place inside.
Clay soothes my soul as my hands shape substance from the earth.
Watercolor surprises me.
Oil color's richness soothe me.
My desire is to give you a rich experience, to share imagination, and to evoke emotion as you view my art.
Healing Tree Art and Design web designs are creative and lush. They will reflect your business, style, and you.
